We have some exciting news to share.
Optimum has officially achieved the Microsoft Solutions Partner designation for Modern Work. This designation represents a high standard within the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program and recognizes partners who can demonstrate measurable expertise, certified talent, and proven customer outcomes.
This milestone reflects a sustained investment in our team, our capabilities, and the results we deliver for our clients. Below, we break down what the designation means, what it takes to earn it, and how it translates into value for your organization.
What Is the Microsoft Solutions Partner for Modern Work Designation?
The Microsoft Solutions Partner designation is now the primary benchmark for partner capability in the Microsoft ecosystem. It replaced the legacy Silver and Gold competency model and introduces a more data-driven, outcomes-based approach to evaluating partners.
Microsoft defines six solution areas: Modern Work, Security, Business Applications, Data and AI, Digital and App Innovation, and Infrastructure. Each designation must be earned independently based on demonstrated performance.
The Modern Work designation recognizes partners who help organizations improve productivity, collaboration, and operational efficiency using Microsoft 365. This includes technologies such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
More importantly, it reflects a partner’s ability to move beyond deployment and support how these tools are actually used in day-to-day operations.

What It Takes to Earn the Designation
The designation is based on a scoring model called the Partner Capability Score. This framework evaluates partners across three areas:
Performance
This measures a partner’s ability to grow and support a Microsoft 365 customer base over time.
Skilling
This validates that certified professionals are in place with both intermediate and advanced Microsoft certifications.
Customer success
This focuses on outcomes such as deployment, adoption, and ongoing usage of Microsoft 365 solutions.
The score requires a minimum threshold across all categories. It must also be maintained annually, ensuring that the designation reflects current capabilities rather than past achievements.
Why Optimum Pursued This Designation
At Optimum, we have always approached technology through a practical lens. The value of any platform depends on how well it is implemented, integrated, and adopted across the business.
Microsoft 365 is a powerful ecosystem, but many organizations only use a portion of what they have licensed. We built our Modern Work practice to help close that gap. That includes aligning tools to business processes, improving governance, and driving adoption in a way that sticks.
Earning this designation required continued investment across our team and delivery approach. That includes certifications, implementation frameworks, and measurable customer outcomes.
It also provides independent, third-party validation that our approach is working.
What This Means for Our Customers
For organizations working with Optimum, the designation has practical implications.
Verified expertise
Our team includes certified professionals with validated Microsoft credentials. This ensures technical depth across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
A focus on outcomes, not just implementation
The designation reflects not just deployments, but how effectively those deployments translate into real usage and value.
Alignment with Microsoft’s roadmap
We stay current with evolving capabilities across Microsoft 365, including Copilot and AI-driven features, so we can guide clients on where and how to adopt them.
Stronger support channels
As a Solutions Partner, we have access to Microsoft resources and support pathways that help us resolve complex challenges more efficiently.
An emphasis on adoption and optimization
Our work does not stop at deployment. We focus on enabling teams, improving processes, and ensuring that technology delivers ongoing value.
This approach aligns with how we operate more broadly as a consulting partner. We prioritize thoughtful implementation, system integration, and measurable business outcomes over one-time rollouts.
What’s Next for Optimum’s Modern Work Practice
This designation is an important milestone, but it is not the end goal.
We are continuing to invest in areas where we see the greatest impact for our clients:
Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI-driven productivity
Organizations are moving quickly to evaluate AI-enabled tools. Our focus is helping clients build the right foundation, including governance, data structure, and change management, before rollout.
Security and compliance
As collaboration expands, so does the need for strong governance and security. We are deepening our capabilities across Microsoft security and compliance solutions to support that balance.
Adoption and continuous improvement
We are expanding our support offerings to help clients optimize their environments over time, including usage insights, governance reviews, and ongoing recommendations.
