Business Challenges

Prior to Optimum’s involvement, the client relied on various third-party software applications, Excel, and emails for their Appraisal Assignment Management processes across multiple locations. This fragmented approach led to significant business challenges, including inconsistency, lack of visibility, and poor collaboration at both location and executive levels. 

The client needed a more efficient, centralized solution to manage and report on appraiser jobs, aiming to minimize human errors, reduce delays, and standardize internal processes, reporting, and communications across locations and management levels.

Additionally, the client required the new solution to integrate seamlessly with their existing in-house applications, including legacy systems for managing properties, clients, and appraiser information.

Optimum’s Involvement

Optimum approached the project with a structured and collaborative methodology:

  1. Requirements Gathering and Process Mapping:
    Conducted in-depth workshops to understand the current state and fully define and document business and functional requirements, as well as user stories for the new, centralized Assignment Management solution.
  2. UX/UI Design:
    Developed detailed wireframes and screen mockups of the new application’s user interface as part of the requirements definition and software concept build-out process.
  3. Agile Development:
    Initiated design and development in a series of sprints, with regular meetings for feedback and input from the client’s leadership.
  4. Technology Stack:
    • Utilized Microsoft technologies such as ASP.NET Core and SQL Server.
    • Employed Azure for version control, reporting, requirements management, automated builds, and release management.
    • Used Angular/DevExtreme for developing the application’s user interfaces.
    • Leveraged Microsoft’s Azure AD for advanced security, adding a security app for two-factor authentication to ensure a secure web interface.
  5. Integration and Deployment:
    • Collaborated with the client’s IT team to develop and test APIs for integrating the new solution with legacy applications, enabling real-time data flow and synchronization.
    • Deployed and hosted the application in the client’s existing AWS environment.
  6. Key Features:
    • Robust capabilities for creating, searching, assigning, and managing appraisal jobs.
    • Automated approval workflows and advanced reporting.
    • Modern, user-friendly interface for end users.
